3 Tips for Every Bride to Enjoy HER day!

There are so many tips out there for brides on planning their wedding day.  Ideas and tricks to help the day run smoothly and be enjoyable for your guests.  As brides, we spend so much time making sure everything is perfect for our guests, and we forget to do things to make it memorable and especially enjoyable for us. But today, I want to share with you 3 tips for YOU, the BRIDE (!!!) to do to make your day more enjoyable and memorable. These are little things, that can add so many wonderful memories to that day and give you even more reasons to look fondly upon your wedding day.  The best part about these all is that they are for YOU (and well, maybe your groom as well).    Use these three tips to add a special touch for you and your groom.

  1. Choose a new scent to wear on your wedding day (your groom, too!)

Don’t wear your everyday perfume on your wedding day.  Go out and choose a scent that is different and delicious and wear that.  Then, pack it on your honeymoon and wear it throughout as well.  Every time you wear it after that, it will remind you of your wedding day and honeymoon.  My husband and I each wore a different scent on our wedding day than our normal scents (I wore Pure Grace by Philosophy and my husband wore Burberry Brit).  Both were so different from our normal scents and we can always catch when the other is wearing it.  To this day, we only wear those scents when we go out of town and the whole trip always takes us back to our honeymoon and wedding day.  That’s the power of smell right there. ;)

2. Ask your caterer to pack up food for the two of you

You’re going to be so excited on your wedding day, that you might just forget to eat.  But after spending so much time planning a delicious meal for your guests, you’re going to want to enjoy it, right?  Well, if you don’t have enough time to eat, ask your caterer if they would mind packing up a to-go box for your and your new husband to take with you to your honeymoon suite!  This saves you from awkward encounters like ours (we ordered room service at our hotel and had to wait an hour dressed up in our wedding clothes waiting for the guy to bring the food…and when he did, he stayed for a good 20 minutes making small talk with us while we were just dying for him to leave.  Needless to say, we were starved after waiting so long in clothes we’d been in all day!) or from simply picking up taco bell or ordering pizza.  You’ll get a good meal that you already paid for so it’s yours anyway. ;)

3. Use a nice dress hanger that has your new name for your wedding gown

This is an elegant and pretty touch for photos and then a nice trinket to keep from your wedding day.  There are so many beautiful wire hangers out there that are inexpensive and have so many cute designs.  You could get your new last name on it, or just the word, “Mrs.”.  Maybe even include your wedding date on it.  The possibilities with those hangers are endless and so much fun.  Later on, you can keep it hanging in your closet as a little reminder of your wedding day.  It makes for pretty decor. :)

Alright, I have one last suggestion.  This really isn’t a tip, but it’s something not every bride knows and is so much fun.

If you send a wedding invitation to Mickey and Minnie, they’ll send you back and autographed photo and a “Just Married” pin.  Isn’t that awesome? So easy and also gives you a great little memory.  The address is:
