Operation Christmas Child is a wonderful opportunity for all of us to participate in giving to those in need during a time when we receive so much.  It is a time when we prepare for so many gifts and things to give away to our loved ones, but would you consider sharing that love towards someone you don’t know?  And possibly someone you’ll never meet?  It doesn’t have to be expensive, and is one of the best things you can do over the holidays.

Today I want to share some links with you to an Amazon shopping cart that will fill 2 shoe boxes with everything you need for under $25.  Or choose a combination of the items and fill one box for under $15. Of course, you can just go to the dollar store and handpick the items you’d like to send, but if you don’t have the time to get out, or just want a little more convenience, purchase the items on the links below and you’ll have just enough to fill up those boxes and make one little boy and one little girl extremely happy this Christmas.

First of all, if you don’t have a church or other location to pick up the shoe boxes provided my Operation Christmas Child, you can try picking one up at your local Hobby Lobby.  They are kindly providing them for free.  If you don’t have one of those in your area,  just take a regular shoe box from home, or pick one up at your local shoe store.  You can leave it plain as it comes, or you can get creative and decorate it, or wrap it.  If you decide to wrap it, make sure to wrap the lid and bottom separately so it can still be opened.  Once you have that, purchase these suggested items to fill up your boxes:

For Both:

You can also add things you may have extra of around your house. Maybe a notepad or some pencils, or a bar of soap.  With these links you can easily fill up 2 boxes for under $25, but if you want to spend a little less, choose either a girl or a boy and get the gender specific items along with a few of the items from the “both” category.  Get creative, but remember no liquid items.  For more information, visit Operation Christmas Child.

If you have any questions, feel free to contact me and I’ll get back to you with an answer or at least a reference who can answer your questions.  This is a great opportunity for anyone, especially to teach children about giving to those who have less than us.  I really hope you participate in this rewarding experience!  :)
