3 Apps That Will Make You Money

IMG_6117

If you have a smartphone, there are many ways you can be saving or making money.  I have spent time trying out some apps and determining which have the best return.  Some I have used longer than others, but all have given me rewards in one way or another.  You, too, can be making this money back with me so that’s why I want to share it with you! The following is a list of the ones I have and continue to use.  I’d love to hear which one’s you have tried as well! :)

1. Shopkick

How it Works: This is the one I’ve used the longest!  Through this app, you earn points (or kicks as they call them) for walking into stores, scanning items, inviting friends to shop kick and even purchasing different things.  For example, on a trip to Target, I might get 30 walk in kicks, which means if I have their app open as I’m walking into the store, I’ll automatically earn them.  Then, they give kicks for scans.  They have a list of items on the app that I can search for throughout my Target trip.  Every time I scan the items they want, I get kicks.  I can also get kicks for purchase (I haven’t tried this yet, but I’ve heard it works just as well!).  On this app, all the stores you can go to are common ones like grocery stores and larger ones like Target, Walmart and the like.  You can probably find these stores in any town!

Rewards:  Shopkick rewards you with gift cards.  Every certain amount of kicks equals a monetary value.  You can then redeem those kicks for the gift cards.  They have a huge variety of options such as Target, Starbucks, Walmart, TJMaxx/Marshalls/Home Goods, Best Buy, Sephora, Macy’s and more.  They also have the option to buy tablets, TVs, movie tickets, and even designer purses directly from their site with your kicks.  I have made the most on this app and gotten a few gift cards!  Recently, my husband and I went on a date night for dessert and coffee to Cheesecake Factory and it was free thanks to the shop kick gift card I had.  We’ve also been to Starbucks a couple of times off of this app.  It’s definitely pretty sweet. :)

2. ReceiptPal

How It Works: This one is really simple.  You just take a picture of every receipt you get when you go shopping.  They take receipts from any location, you just need to make sure to include the store name, date of purchase and the total amount with the picture you snap on their app.  With every approved receipt you get 25 points.

Rewards:  ReceiptPal’s rewards are also in the form of gift cards to some store and Restaurant.com gift cards.  You can also get movie tickets or Amazon credit with it.  So far, I’ve received a $50 Restaurant.com certificate and 2 Fandango movie tickets.  I earned that by taking pictures of my receipts in the last 3 months of 2015 and now Mikey and I are saving that for a date night.  I think this is one of the apps with most rewards for least amount of work!

3. Checkout51

How It Works:  This app literally lets you earn cash back.  They give you a grocery list and if you buy anything from that list, you snap a picture of your receipt and submit it and you’ll be credited that money.  For example, they might have bananas at 30 cents.  So if I buy bananas during that week and submit the receipt, they’ll put the 30 cents on my account.  It’s a very small amount of money you get back, so it takes a while to add up, but for doing nothing other than groceries and taking a little picture, it’s a pretty easy way to earn money!

Rewards: This app gives you the money back once you reach $20.  It might take a little while to get there because the cash back per item is so low, but you’ll get there!  The best part is, you get this money directly onto your PayPal or as a check in the mail.  As soon as I reached my first $20, I redeemed it and got the cash back through PayPal.  It felt so good!  This is literally cash I can get for doing nothing out of my regular weekly routine.  I’d say that’s a good deal!

Have you tried these apps?  Have you received any rewards from any other apps you love?  I’d love to hear your thoughts, suggestions and about what you’ve tried. :)
