This Cilantro Ranch Green Sauce is the perfect dipping sauce for chips or drizzle for your taco!
We love a good green sauce around here. Cilantro + garlic makes the bestttt sauce to drizzle over a taco.
We recently tried one at Costco that had a kick of ranch in it as well. It was so dang good but a limited edition sauce. boo!
So I got to work on figuring out how to make this sauce and I think we’ve nailed it! It got the approval from everyone in my house!
What you’ll need to make a Cilantro Ranch Green Sauce of your own:
- Hidden Valley ranch seasoning mix – the kind you use to make a homemade dressing
- milk – ok so we’re combining whole milk and vinegar to make buttermilk. But if you have buttermilk, use that instead!
- vinegar- regular ol’ distilled white vinegar.
- mayo- the best you can get. none of that fake stuff! It makes a difference.
- cilantro- this is the key here! Make sure your cilantro is fresh for the best results
- garlic – fresh cloves would be best if you can get those!
- lime – optional, but always delicious in a green sauce!
This recipe is super versatile! You can add or remove things or just make it to taste.
My measurements are how we like it, but you can always start with less ranch or cilantro and see how you like it. Add more as you taste!
How to make the sauce:
It’s the simplest recipe ever- add everything to a blender and blend away until it’s soooo creamy!
The first time I made this, I went overboard on the Ranch seasoning (one packet is way too much for us) but we like it with half.
You may like it with 3/4 or the whole thing. So be sure to start low and add as you go. :)
My favorite way to enjoy this is over my 2 Ingredient Taco Chicken.
The chicken is so easy to make in under 20 minutes in the instant pot.
During that time, prep your toppings and make this sauce.
When it’s done, just assemble your tacos and drizzle this over the top. I promise you’re going to love it!
I’ve also served this with tortilla chips and a dip and we all love it! Such a great football season appetizer!
